REGISTRATION HAS NOW CLOSED

In this world of contrary ideas and beliefs it is vital to give your children a strong foundation rooted in faith. We highly encourage all school aged children to be enrolled in religious education beginning in first grade and continuing through the completion of their 8th grade year.
St. Katharine Drexel Mission offers faith formation classes for children in grades 1-8 through our Religious Education Program. We do offer classes for high school students who are still in need of Sacraments.
As parents, you are the primary teachers of passing the Catholic faith to your children. Our program serves to supplement those teachings using the Diocesan curriculum and supplemental materials.
Religious Education Class Information
Our classes for the 2025-2026 school year will run from September 7, 2025 through May 3, 2026 on Sunday mornings.
Alvey Elementary
5300 Waverly Farm Drive
Haymarket, VA 20169
9:00 am – 10:15 am
Through the program, children will learn what it means to be a faith-filled Catholic and how they can apply these values to their everyday lives.
Sacramental Preparation
We offer a two-year Sacramental preparation program for those who wish to receive First Penance and First Holy Communion or Confirmation. The program helps children know and understand more deeply God’s immense love for each of us.
Attendance at the Saturday Vigil or Sunday Mass is required for those enrolled in their Sacramental year for First Penance and First Communion (typically 2nd grade) and Confirmation (typically 8th grade). There will be a binder with attendance sheets in the Narthex each week we have religious education classes.
Shareen Klos, Director of Religious Education, will be available in the St. Katharine Mission office to help families on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm.
