Progress continues in our efforts to build a new church home for St. Katharine Drexel parishioners. Based on the positive response we received from our fall Capital Campaign (reaching 94% of our campaign goal), this spring was spent moving our church building project forward!

Over 160 parishioners and friends of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Mission celebrated Mardi Gras in grand style at SKD’s 3rd annual Mardi Gras Ball, held March 2 at the Piedmont Club. The theme was “Black & White” to coordinate with their evening’s entertainment, Blazin’ Keys Dueling Pianos.Piano players on two baby grand pianos played guests’ requests – unless another guest paid more for the players to stop the song or begin another one. By the end of the night, everyone was up from their seats, singing and dancing. All proceeds from the evening, including the auction, raffles and tips to the pianists, were donated to the St. Katharine Drexel Building Fund. This Lent, we invite you to share the journey of Norma, Annet, Christyan, Kumba and Ona by following the links to CRS Rice Bowl. With each

The St. Katharine Drexel Legion of Mary welcomes all to join them on Wednesday from 11:00 AM – Noon at the SKD Mission Office. The Legion of Mary is the largest Confraternity of men and women worldwide practicing Marion devotion through Apostolic spiritual and corporal works of mercy.
Lent begins Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Did you know that 25% of CRS Rice Bowl donations stay in our local communities? CRS engages people at every level—individual, family, community, regional, national and international—to promote transformative and sustainable change by providing health and medical services, clean water and sanitation, justice and peacebuilding, and working with at risk families displaced from war ravaged countries. CRS Rice Bowl is our sacrifice.
CRS LENTEN RICE BOWLS will be available before Ash Wednesday to Religious Education classes and available to parishioners who wish to participate.
Sunday, April 28th before and after Mass. (There will be only one (1) return date so as not to conflict with Communion dates.)

A big note of thanks to Matthew Lorzing and Eagle Scout Troup #1882. For Matthew’s Eagle Scout project, he and members of his Troop built a bridge on the back property of the St. Katharine Drexel Mission Office to complete the Rosary Walk positioned around the pond. What a beautiful and tranquil spot for prayer. Thank you, Matthew!
