The SKD Building Committee has been busy since June 2019 preparing the information needed by the Diocesan Building Commission to gain approval to proceed to the next steps of our project (e.g., design and construction).

Walking with Purpose – Woman’s Catholic Bible Study

St. Katharine Drexel Mission is pleased to offer two Bible study options through the Walking with Purpose – Woman’s Catholic Bible Study.

First Time Participants: Opening Your Heart
You may choose either Tuesday Morning 8:30 – 10:00 AM or Wednesday evening 6:00 – 7:30 PM. It is a 22 lesson study and we will meet weekly from October to April.

Fall Festival Tickets – September 29

Please join the St. Katharine Drexel parish community for our annual Fall Festival sponsored by the Father Jon O’Brien Council of the Knight of Columbus on September 29, 2019 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Four Hills Farm (4610 Sudley Road, Catharpin, VA).

Progress continues in our efforts to build a new church home for St. Katharine Drexel parishioners. Based on the positive response we received from our fall Capital Campaign (reaching 94% of our campaign goal), this spring was spent moving our church building project forward!

Join the Legion of Mary on Wednesdays

The St. Katharine Drexel Legion of Mary welcomes all to join them on Wednesday from 11:00 AM – Noon at the SKD Mission Office. The Legion of Mary is the largest Confraternity of men and women worldwide practicing Marion devotion through Apostolic spiritual and corporal works of mercy.

2019 CRS Rice Bowls Now Available

Lent begins Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Did you know that 25% of CRS Rice Bowl donations stay in our local communities? CRS engages people at every level—individual, family, community, regional, national and international—to promote transformative and sustainable change by providing health and medical services, clean water and sanitation, justice and peacebuilding, and working with at risk families displaced from war ravaged countries. CRS Rice Bowl is our sacrifice.

Distribution
CRS LENTEN RICE BOWLS will be available before Ash Wednesday to Religious Education classes and available to parishioners who wish to participate.

Return Date:
Sunday, April 28th before and after Mass. (There will be only one (1) return date so as not to conflict with Communion dates.)

The March for Life

Friday, January 18 is the 46th Annual March for Life in Washington, DC. This will be a full day event to include pro-lie speakers, Christian band performances, the March for Life, food and fellowship.
