Feast Day Celebration: Rejoicing in Faith, Service & Fellowship

Plans are underway to celebrate the Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel on Friday, March 3, 2023. As we reflect on the life and ministry of St. Katharine Drexel, let’s join together in prayer, service and fellowship:

  • Religious Education – Students in our Religious Education classes will pray a decade of the Rosary on Sunday, February 26. Each grade level will offer their prayers in the form of spiritual bouquets for those who impact our Mission.
  • Visit from Fr. Murphy – In honor of our Feast Day, Fr. Murphy will visit Religious Education classes on Sunday, February 26, and provide a special blessing for students and Catechists.
  • Feast Day Art Contest – St. Katharine Drexel Mission is sponsoring an Art Contest for children/teens in grades 1-5, and middle/high school. Artwork should represent St. Katharine Drexel, her ministry, or aspects of our Mission. Entries must be submitted along with the form found on our website by Sunday, February 26, 2023.   • Pray the Rosary – Parishioners are encouraged to pray the Rosary during the week of February 26 – March 3, offering prayers of thanksgiving for our faith community and praying for God’s guidance as we break ground on our new church. Members of the SKD Legion of Mary will provide more information and greet parishioners after Mass on Sunday, February 26.
  • Bible Study – Participants in our Bible Study Programs will pray a decade of the Rosary together the week of February 26 – March 3, 2023.
  • Adoration Ours is the Spirit of the Eucharist, the total gift of self. Celebrate the Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel by spending one hour before the Blessed Sacrament during Holy Hour at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Middleburg on Wednesday, March 1 from 7:00-8:00 PM.
  • Feast Day Food Drive – In keeping with the ministry of St. Katharine Drexel, our Mission will host a food drive to benefit clients of the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (HRFP). Please bring non-perishable food items to Mass/RE classes on Sunday, February 26. For a list of suggested items, please see the HRFP website atorg/needs.
  • Parish Fellowship – Join fellow SKD parishioners at The Farm Brewery for fun and fellowship at 7:00 PM on the Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel – Friday, March 3, 2023. The Farm Brewery is located at 16015 John Marshall Hwy, Broad Run, VA 20137.

We have so much to be thankful for as we begin building our new church home. Come celebrate our patronal feast day with prayer, service and fellowship. All are welcome!

As part of the festivities, St. Katharine Drexel Mission is sponsoring an Art Contest for children/teens in grades 1-5, and middle/high school. Artwork should represent St. Katharine Drexel, her ministry, or aspects of our Mission.

Car Raffle – For Vehicles and Cash

St. Katharine Drexel Mission has, once again, invited our parishioners to participate in the All Saints Multi-Car Raffle.

Prizes include four vehicles from Ourisman Ford of Manassas (Ford Escape, Mustang, Ranger Truck and Bronco Sport).  One $5.00 ticket offers the purchaser a chance to win all four vehicles plus $40,000 (including one for $20,000) in cash prizes.

Tickets may be picked up after Mass the weekend of February 12. Tickets which are not picked up will be mailed to all registered parishioners.

All tickets will be processed at All Saints Catholic Church.  We encourage you to mail them directly to All Saints. This raffle continues to benefit our parish and many other charitable causes throughout the diocese.   We hope that you will support our efforts by buying or selling your tickets.
